Bethany Wee
Bethany Wee (based in Boorloo/Perth, Australia) is an emerging artist working across ceramic sculptural installation, oil painting and digital media. Her practice explores the tensions of contemporary consumer culture, particularly the relationship between consumption, desire and attachment. Bethany’s recent projects consider the cultural and personal significance of collectible figurines, examining the objects, economies and systems of value that shape how they are produced, consumed and collected.
Bethany is currently completing her undergraduate degree at The University of Western Australia, studying Fine Arts, Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, and Women’s Health.
